What is peace?

I just heard on Fox News that the U.S. is expediting a shipment of bunker busting bombs to Israel. Also Israeli war planes hit a religious building where refugees were gathered in Southern Lebanon.
Hzbl launched more than 100 rockets today into Israel...

What would happen if Hzbl gave back the 2 kidnapped soldiers today?
Would this war end?

When does peace mean letting go of the past and focusing on the future?

What is to become of Lebanon and the Lebanese people?

The i-Pod killer

It's the only thing that will challenge the market strangle hold the iPod currently enjoys...it's the mp3 enabled phone.
Within the next 3 yrs the sound quality on phones will be up to much higher standards than it is now, plus the memory will increase and that will help to up-root some Apple dominance in this industry. As a nice off shoot, the better the phones get the more other mp3 manufacturers will have a fighting chance.
Personally I have a 3 yr old iPod. It's great but the major drawback is that my music is locked in a format I can't easily interchange with friends or other devices. I don't think I'm alone. In fact, there's a lawsuit currently going on in Germany to force Apple to open it's code and make your music yours again. We'll see if it works.
Anyway, if you were given the choice to have music tied to 1 player and not shareable, or shareable and easily transferred across multiple interactive formats which would you choose?

No question...

I just bought a hybrid

Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

Here's a question: Why does the pres. and congress question how to get people to conserve fuel when they repeal the tax break on hybrid purchases. Here's a basic economic principal, if the first movers in a market are rewarded by purchasing a "network externality," then the market expands and competition grows.
$100 buck credit, stupid!
Gift of land and licenses to already fat oil companies, ludicrous!!

oh, the hybrid gets about 30 mpg and is oh so cush...
Not as refined as i expected in certain ways (engine smoothness mostly) but the inside is very high quality, it looks fantastic and is darn fast if need be.

We don't all have to be sheep...

It amazes me that 'opinion polls' now show rising concerns a civil war will come to Iraq. Where have people been getting their news from for the last 5 years? Fox news and White House press briefings? "Stay the Course" and blindly follow your elected leader. That makes for treacherous political waters, but at least you 'don't 'show weakness by changing your opinion,' only a surplus of pride.

The advisors for the military, republican and democrat, foretold of civil war and the need for more troops in Iraq before we went in. It was reported by many sources...but did most Ameicans listen?

"shhhh, the president, and Sec. of Defense (a civilian, that has never served in combat) have a different idea."

Bottom line, the 'right' in office now can be way 'right' and the 'left' bellyaches way to far 'left.'

So, Americans...WAKE UP, take elements of both, seek out information from multiple sources and have your own opinion.
